This watering hole webcam streams live from close to the Mpala Research Centre which was established in November 1994 at the core of the Ewaso ecosystem, a large, geographically diverse region of central Kenya, defined by the Ewaso Ng'iro River and it's tributaries. The region is characterised by arid and semi-arid savannahs and woodlands, having an estimated 550 bird species and 100 mammal species, including large populations of elephants and rare species, such as the Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, and African wild dog. You will also see hippos, gazelles, crocodiles, leopards and many other species take a drink and/or a swim. The watering hole webcam if frequented night and day and you won't have to wait long, if at all, before you see the watering hole in use.
This watering hole webcam is just one of a number of webcams you can view to see live streaming action from Africa. From time to time some of the webcams become inoperational as they are subject to flooding and technical faults. Because of their often remote location it can take weeks, sometime months to reach and repair them!
